WAFRA BREEZE RESTORATION

KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT

The Wafra Breeze development maximizes the utilization of its commercial areas through a strategic division into two distinct zones. The primary commercial frontage faces the Gulf Road, taking advantage of open coastal views and a calm streetscape to support a “come and stay” typology, including cafés and restaurants, complemented by landscaped outdoor seating areas that enhance user experience and commercial value. Sliding glass panels strengthen the visual and spatial connection between interior and exterior spaces, while a secondary service access provides efficient basement connectivity for operations. At the rear, a smaller commercial unit is positioned along the busy internal road, catering to high-turnover uses such as grocery and takeaway outlets, and forming a new accessible commercial corner. Above the ground-floor retail, two additional levels of mixed-use spaces are introduced to support and activate the commercial environment. The design ensures a seamless relationship between public and private realms through transparent boundary elements and a redefined fence that maintains security without compromising accessibility. A contemporary landscape strategy, derived from the project’s diagonal geometry, integrates linear seating and enhances spatial identity, while the replacement of the solid front boundary wall with a green barrier improves visual openness and strengthens the connection to the surrounding context.
