Dar Al-Jazera Consultants (AJC) is a progressive Architectural and Multi-disciplinary Engineering firm founded by Arch. Ahmad A. Al-Jihayem, in 1978.
The J-6B Private School, part of the Jaber Al Ahmed City development by the Public Authority of Housing Welfare, is a new educational campus designed to accommodate high-density requirements within an 8,891 m² site and a total built area of approximately 27,000 m². The school serves students from pre-school through grade 12, with a fully integrated yet independently functioning kindergarten. The design emphasizes modern educational principles and next-generation learning environments. It features spacious classrooms, specialized instruction rooms (art, music, science, language labs), breakout areas, outdoor playgrounds, and naturally lit corridors. A signature central staircase forms the core of the building, acting as the main circulation hub and social gathering space.
A fully programmed basement includes major shared facilities such as a gymnasium, swimming pool, theatre, and a multipurpose hall, supporting school-wide activities and community use. Key design drivers include creativity, experimentation, social responsibility, leadership, inclusion, and student well being. Environmental considerations— daylighting, acoustics, and technology integration—play a central role in shaping the learning experience.
The school’s relationship with its surrounding neighborhood is carefully considered, with open yet secure perimeter treatments and welcoming outdoor spaces. The main entrance sets the tone for the school’s identity through landscaping and an inviting spatial sequence leading to the central staircase.
Overall, the design positions the school as a vibrant, safe, and inspiring environment at the heart of its community.
